Episode notes

Everybody wants love… until love says, “Aight, but we need to talk about what you did.”

In this episode of The Quiet Table with Mr. Hood, we’re talking about the part of love that doesn’t always make the cute relationship posts: accountability.

What does a real apology look like? Can you forgive somebody without giving them the same access to you? Why do families excuse harmful behavior with “that’s just how they are”? And what happens when the person who needs to hear the truth… is you?

Mr. Hood gets into apologies without the “but,” boundaries without guilt, family accountability, friendship, forgiveness, community responsibility, and the difference between somebody correcting you and somebody trying to control you.

Because love isn’t just agreeing with somebody. Sometimes love tells the truth. Sometimes love sets a boundary. Sometimes love says, “I still care about you—but this cannot continue.”

And sometimes the chair we keep pointing at… is ours.

QUESTION FOR THE TABLE: Do you want to be loved—or do you just want to be agreed with?
