Untethered ~ Grieve

Grief can come in many forms! Please reach out if you are ever going through it. Connecting with the right people, showing up the best you can, and understanding that in time you can relax into life again all comes with allowing it all to be. Connect with Lauren Connect with Leah

Untethered ~The Power of Thoughts

It can be so hard to keep our thoughts and emotions in check when we are growing through a lot. One thing we must try and do it accept when we are in this space and try not to judge ourselves to harshly. Next, acknowledge the root of the negativity. Then, talk yourself through your thoughts and feels. From there share with those around you to get it fully off your chest, and maybe even get a little guidance.

Untethered ~ Protect The Flames

“Protect your own good in all that you do, and as concerns everything else take what is given as far as you can make reasoned use of it. If you don’t, you’ll be unlucky, prone to failure, hindered, and stymied.”—EPICTETUS, DISCOURSES, 4.3.11

Untethered ~ The People You Attract

● Age. You attract people who are approximately the same age as you. ○ For example, in the dot-com boom of the 1990s, most of the people who worked in the industry were in their twenties and thirties, because the leaders that founded the companies were in that age range and hired people like them.● Attitude. Positive people tend to attract positive people, and negative people tend to attract negative ones. Attitude is also contagious—people will change their attitudes based on the people around them. ● Relatability. You attract people who have a similar culture and background to your own. ○ For example, employers tend to hire people who are the same race as they are.● Morals. You attract people who have similar values to your own. ○ For example, J.F. Kennedy was an idealist. He wanted to make the world a better place and he founded the Peace Corps. The Peace Corps is full of people who have similar values to Kennedy’s. ● Compatible energy. It’s difficult for people with different energy levels to work together. You attract people who have a similar level to your own. ● Talent in your field. Followers are attracted to leaders who are good at the things they’re good at. ○ For example, football players want to be coached by people who are good at football.● Leadership skills. If you’re a leader, you’re going to attract other leaders. Because of Law #7 (people follow the strongest leader), the leadership skills of your followers won’t be quite as developed as your own, but they’ll have potential. https://www.instagram.com/calloway4president/

Untethered ~ Calm is Contagious

“If then it's not that the things you pursue or avoid are coming at you, but rather that you in a sense are seeking them out, at least try to keep your judgment of them steady, and they too will remain calm and you won't be seen chasing after or fleeing from them.”

Untethered ~ It Is Well To Be Flexible

“He can’t serve in the military? Let him seek public office. Must he live in the private sector? Let him be a spokesperson. Is he condemned to silence? let him aid his fellow citizens by silent public witness. Is it dangerous to enter the Forum? Let him display himself, in private homes, at public events and gatherings, as a good associate, faithful friend, and moderate stablemate. Has he lost the duties of a citizen? Let him exercise those of a human being. — Seneca, On Tranquility of Mind, 4.3
