On today's show I caught up with Neena Brown. Only she can tell her story because no one else's version does it justice.

Ever since I was a young girl, growing up on the South Side Of Jane Street, I've always been singing. I was shy however and I would only sing and write in private. I knew that music this would be my outlet and safe haven from the chaos that occurred in my life. From my brother who m**** me when I was a little girl, to my grandparents passing away, my father always working and my sister being an alcoholic, music became my best friend and ally.

After one night of confronting these matters, I was no longer welcomed in my own home. I just had too much bottled inside that I had to let out. From that turning point, music would became my priority. I got tired of that oppression and loneliness. I had finally let my music be ...
