The Vast Political and Cultural Divide across North America

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. This week, We're continuing about the extreme divisions between the different people in the U.S., and Canada, and what the ultimate outcome of what that will look like eventually if things keep going as they are. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit as I talk about the huge cultural divisions in the U.S. and some parts of Canada. Authors Note: Warning, there are some adult sexual references as regard to Donald Trump, and some adult language with regard to republican politicians in general here in Virginia. There is also an off-script monologue at the end about my interaction with a wannabe local state politician who paid me a visit this week, instead of my usual commercial break and reading of another chapter of The Priest by Michael Campi. If you’re from Virginia, I would advise you to listen all the way to the end. Even if you’re not, this may apply to your state as well in the near future.

Tribalism and a One Party State

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. This week, I'm going to continue talking about human nature, with a focus on the current authoritarian crisis in the United States and in Palestine. In this instance, the deliberate extermination of a people out of a sense of extreme tribalism. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit as I talk about tribalism today and how that's affecting the world at large.

Tribalism

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. This week, I'm continuing what I started last week. I'm going to talk some more about humans and their innate ability to destroy nearly everything they come in contact with. I'm starting off with an expanded version of a blog article I wrote back in late 2022 about tribalism. It didn't get much traction back then, and it may not today but it still needs to be said. In this episode, I talk more about human nature, and what that portends for the future of the United States and its people, and the world at large. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit as I talk about tribalism and how that plays into empire building.

What if the Native Americans had Wiped Out the First Europeans?

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. A couple of weeks ago, an online friend from northern California wrote a short blog article wondering what north America might look like if the Europeans had never arrived. There was much online speculation about that, and I got the idea to explore that a little bit more. I had asked my friend to collaborate with me on this but, apparently he became distracted with something else, like survival. So today, I am bringing my take on this, along with some history I dug up from Wikipedia. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit as I present some history and some thoughts on what the Americas might look like without the Europeans.

What Does a Fascist U.S. Look like Under Donald Trump?

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. This week, I want to ask what does a fascist United States looks like under Donald J. Trump? I offer a perspective that no one is talking about, that I think, based on his life so far, fits the narrative we're seeing to a tee. All I ask is that you listen with an open mind and think about this after I'm done today. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let's talk about what Donald Trump's version of fascism looks like.

How Will Lives Change in a Drying World?

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. Firstly, I want to let everyone know that the experiment of posting one of my fictional Irish stories was a bust. Only a couple people liked it, and I lost two free subscribers over it so I won't be doing that anymore. I'll just save them for my next book. In the meantime, it's been a busy week across the world. As I promised last week, I'm going to talk about how fresh water across the world is disappearing due to misuse and how this is starting to affect geopolitics. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let's talk about the loss of fresh water across the world.

America's Failing Electrical Grid

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your seanchaí, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me. As I said last week, and in keeping with my theme of talking about the things that matter most to regular people, I have found some news articles that do have an impact on everyday life for most Americans. Today, I'm going to talk about the U.S. power grid. How it is set up across the country as far as private, public or a co-op, the frailty of it all and what that might mean for the average consumer, depending on the state they live in. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let's talk about the electricity infrastructure in the U.S.

The Púka of Log na Coille

Fáilte Welcome to the weekend edition (maybe) of The Village Oak Tree. I decided to see about posting part 1 of a story I wrote a couple of years ago on my substack page, and I recorded an audio file as well. Which I'm adding here. I hope people enjoy it and reach out to me to let me know. If people like my stories well enough, I'll present some more. Thank you. I'll be back next week with my regular schedule. Sláinte

The Scourge of Global Migration

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me once again. In my continuing podcasts to push people into standing up against tyranny, as promised, I will be talking about global migrations today. I have a handful of news stories I've found in the last week, that show us just how cruel governments around the world are becoming with regard to all of these mass migrations that have been taking place for decades now, along with a little history to show that this not a new thing, and offer some practical solutions that we know these governments will never put into practice. So, gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let me tell you about global migrations around the world.

The Feckless Americans and other Stories that should Scare us All

Fáilte Welcome to The Village Oak Tree I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for joining me once again. In my continuing podcasts to push people into standing up against tyranny, I found a handful of odd news stories from around the U.S. and the world that I thought might peak people's interest this week. A couple of them are downright stupid from the Americans, and I also found some interesting stories about the middle east. Some you may already know about, some you may not. So gather round, sit you down somewhere comfortable for a bit and let me tell you about some of the things that are going on around the world.
