In Episode 28 of the Union Jack Classic Podcast, Tj, George and Sam look back at the opening weekend of the college football season and ask what Week 1 revealed about Arizona State and Kansas ahead of the Union Jack Classic. 🔱🐦🏈 Both teams are now officially underway, and with Wembley getting closer, the episode takes a deeper look at how the Sun Devils and Jayhawks started their seasons, what stood out and whether anything from Week 1 changes the picture heading into 19 September. For Kansas, Isaiah Marshall was one of the biggest talking points. The young quarterback looked hugely promising in Week 1, giving Jayhawks fans an early look at what he could bring to the offence this season. Tj, George and Sam discuss what stood out from his performance, what it could mean for Kansas going forward and whether the quarterback situation now looks any clearer. Arizona State also started fast. Cutter Boley and Kenny Dillingham opened the season on a high, with ASU giving plenty to talk about after their first game of the year. The group looks at how Boley performed, what Dillingham's team showed in Week 1 and where the Sun Devils already look dangerous. Attention then turns to Week 2. We talk about the culture surrounding university American football in Britain, how programmes are built, the challenges teams face, where the standard of play is heading and why the university game is such an important part of growing American football in the UK. And that growth is becoming increasingly connected to the Union Jack Classic.
