EP - 35 "Rachel"

On this week’s episode of The Slanted Attic Experience, Tyler is joined by Rachel—an environmental scientist and GIS Manager based in Colorado, originally from Virginia. A proud Virginia Tech alum, Rachel spends her time outdoors hiking, paddleboarding, riding horses, or playing rec volleyball—often with her dog Beau in tow. When she’s not mapping and collecting water samples across the Rockies, she’s exploring new hobbies like reading and learning the ukulele. A longtime friend of Tyler’s since college, Rachel brings a grounded, insightful perspective to this wide-ranging and thoughtful conversation.

Drawing from her professional work and personal experiences, Rachel dives into the realities of environmental change, water usage, ethical food sourcing, and the everyday impact of consumer choices. With a balance of science, practical tips, and lived experience, she offers listeners a clear-eyed look at the systems we rely on—and how they’re shifting.

• LA wildfires and emergency response
