Sacramento Police made two overnight arrests Tuesday, including a burglary suspect discovered hiding in a canal and a driver arrested after officers recovered an illegally possessed firearm during a traffic stop on Mack Road.

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced lengthy prison sentences in two separate 2022 murder cases. Quentin Respers was sentenced to 40 years to life for the fatal shooting of Abrina Wheeler at the 49er Truck Stop, while D’Anthony Chaney received 52 years to life for the South Land Park murder of Terrence Lindsey.

Sacramento County is also looking toward the future, issuing a Request for Proposals to develop an investment and revitalization strategy for 15 commercial corridors across the unincorporated county. The goal is to attract investment, strengthen neigh ...
