Life of Christ: Will You Survive the Storm

Series: Life of Christ Text: Matthew 14:22–33 Speaker: Minister Jermain Wilson 🌊 Main Question Will you survive the storm—or will you sink in it? 🧭 Key Thought The storm isn’t sent to destroy you—it reveals where your focus is. Survival is not about the storm around you, but your focus within it. 👣 Key Points Jesus Sends You Into Some Storms The disciples were in God’s will and still found themselves in trouble. Obedience does not exempt you from storms. Jesus Comes in the Middle of the Storm He may not stop it immediately, but He will show up in it. Sometimes what looks like fear is actually Jesus drawing near. Peter Walked on Water… Until He Looked Away Faith begins when you fix your eyes on Jesus. Fear begins when you focus on the wind and waves. Focus Determines Outcome When Peter looked at Jesus, he walked. When he looked at the storm, he sank. Jesus Still Saves Sinking People Even when Peter began to sink, Jesus immediately reached out. Failure in the storm doesn’t disqualify you—it reveals your need for Him. 🔑 Takeaway If you want to survive the storm, keep your eyes on Jesus. The moment your focus shifts, your faith follows. 🙏 Closing Thought The storm will test you—but it will also reveal you. The question isn’t if the storm will come… The question is: where will your eyes be when it does?

Life of Christ: Glory On The Water

Glory on the Water | The Life of Christ Series In this message from Mark 6:45–52, we look at the moment Jesus walks on the water and what it reveals about who He is. This passage is not just about a miracle—it is about how Jesus reveals Himself in the middle of life’s storms. Sometimes the very storm we are trying to survive is the place where Christ intends to show us His glory. Key Themes Pride dies where prayer lives. Jesus withdrew to pray in the midst of pressure and expectation, showing that intimacy with the Father sustains the mission. There’s glory in the storm. The disciples struggled against the wind, but the storm became the setting where Jesus revealed more of who He is. Trust grows through experience. Jesus allowed the disciples to face the storm so they could learn to trust Him more deeply. Don’t miss the holy moment. Even after witnessing miracles, the disciples struggled with hardened hearts. When our focus stays on the storm, we can miss the presence of Jesus standing right in front of us. Key Scripture Mark 6:45–52 Takeaway Jesus does not only reveal His glory after the storm—He reveals it in the middle of it. The question is whether our hearts will recognize Him when He comes. Take heart. He is with you. Do not be afraid.

Life of Christ: Before the Crown

Before there was a crown, there was a wilderness. Before public ministry, there was private testing. In this message, we examine the beginning of Christ’s earthly ministry and discover that the wilderness is not meant to destroy us—but to verify us. The process always comes before the promise. Key Text Luke 4:1–13 Main Thought The test isn’t to destroy you; it’s to verify you. God will often lead you into seasons that prove what He has already placed inside you. Major Themes 1. Led by the Spirit Into the Wilderness Jesus was not lost—He was led. The wilderness is necessary for preparation. God develops privately what He plans to display publicly. 2. The Purpose of the Test Testing reveals identity. Temptation attacks what God has already affirmed. The enemy questions what heaven has declared. 3. Wilderness Is Preparation, Not Punishment The wilderness exposes weakness so we learn dependence. It strips away comfort and builds spiritual endurance. What feels like isolation is often divine formation. 4. Victory Before Visibility Jesus defeated temptation before performing miracles. Private obedience precedes public authority. There is no crown without a cross, and no cross without a wilderness. Application Don’t despise your wilderness season. Stop asking, “Why am I here?” and start asking, “What is God forming in me?” The same Word that sustained Jesus will sustain you. Closing Encouragement If God is leading you through a wilderness, it’s because He’s preparing you for something greater. The crown is coming—but first, there must be confirmation.
