Episode notes
What happens when familiarity causes us to stop recognising the grace God has placed before us?
In this powerful message, “A Prophet Without Honour,” we explore the biblical principle of honour and the importance of recognising the people, gifts and spiritual offices God has established within the Body of Christ.
Scripture teaches that although we are many members, we are one body in Christ, and every member has a different function. God gives apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for a purpose — to equip the saints, build the Church and bring the Body of Christ toward maturity.
This message also challenges every believer to understand that our individual function matters. When one member refuses to serve or fulfil their responsibility, another part of the Body can be affected. Whether you preach, worship, clean, serve, record, organise or work behind the scenes, your contribution has significance in God’s Kingdom.
Most importantly, we are reminded of the danger of familiarity without honour. Sometimes we can become so accustomed to the people God has placed around us that we fail to recognise the grace, wisdom and spiritual value they carry.
