In the opening message of our WITHNESS sermon series, we explore what it means to move beyond simply doing for Jesus and learn again how to truly be with Jesus. Drawing from John 6:1–14 and the feeding of the five thousand, we place ourselves within the story and ask: Are we only interested in the bread and fish Jesus can give us, or are our eyes fixed on Jesus himself? Are we so impressed by the miracle that we forget about the miracle worker? Withness invites us into a life of closeness, connection, and love—a life shaped by the simple desire to be with Jesus.
