Episode notes
In this episode of The Grind and The Glory, Joe Rotbart sits down with Ewout Gouw, a Dutch former professional footballer who brought European football spirit to the streets of Miami. Together, they look back on their journey founding Dade County FC, a club built from passion, friendship, and pure love for the game.
From long nights balancing dreams and real life, to the culture shock of trying to create “real football” in the United States, Ewout shares what it truly takes to build something meaningful in a city that’s still learning what the beautiful game means. They laugh about their mistakes, remember the grind, and reflect on whether — after everything — they would ever do it again.
This is a story about purpose, sacrifice, and chasing something bigger than yourself — on and off the field.
