8. Six Books About Environmentalism that Shifted My Thinking

Have you ever felt that mind-blowing feeling when you just finished a book and think, "this changes everything"? In today's episode of The Green-Pill Pod, I'm giving you six books about environmentalism that did just that. From just starting out to really deepening your understanding of intersectional issues, this list of books has something for everyone. Let me know if there are any books you'd add to this list!

7. Are We *Actually* Willing to Pay for High Quality Clothing?

In this episode, I'm giving you a high level overview of what all goes into the cost of making a garment (as a fashion production coordinator). I'm hoping this grants more insight into what actually makes high quality clothing deserving of that title, and more importantly, the price tag. So, are you actually willing to pay more for high quality clothing? Or is it empty virtue signaling that's currently trendy? 6. Fashion Brands Are Starting to Care

Fashion brands aren't going to make a shift if no one is making the noise or push for it. People are fed up with cheap sh*t, and brands are starting to notice. 5. Should We Kill Invasive Species?

Maybe your knee-jerk reaction to the question of exterminating invasive species is "Yes, absolutely"! Or maybe it's "No, that's so cruel". Either way, I'm digging in to the arguments for both by exploring ethics versus pragmatism. Let me know what you think!

4. There Is No Such Thing as a Perfect Environmentalist

Welcome back to a (very) chatty episode of The Green-Pill Pod! This one is definitely more of a stream of consciousness surrounding my views around the impossible standards environmentalists are held to. Not only are climate deniers and bots out to sow division, it can seem hypocritical to any average person to not be living 100% sustainably at all time. That can be incredibly challenging, especially with the systems we're in! I'm hoping we can deconstruct out views around perfectionism, and also push to CHANGE the systems currently upheld.

3. How A No-Buy Altered My Brain Chemistry

I've made it over halfway through the "nothing new" challenge I set for myself at the beginning of this year! In today's podcast, I'm talking successes, struggles, my reformed relationship to consumption, and what these last few months of this challenge may hold. Not only has only buying secondhand seriously slowed my consumption, I feel in control of my spending and have been able to hit and make progress on ambitious financial goals I set for myself. I hope this episode inspires you to try a secondhand-only week, month, quarter, or even rest of the year! skip to the good stuff: 00:00 what sparked a no-buy 5:42 rules around consumption 8:15 general reflections on my relationship w /consumption 17:50 ways I’ve avoided buying new/been resourceful 21:32 ways I did buy new… 33:05 going forward with a no buy challenge

2. Are We "Victims" of Overconsumption?

Overconsumption is most definitely a rampant issue in the US. But are we victims of this mindset, or do we have more responsibility than we think? Lugged by Nature Connection, Free Music Archive CC BY License

1. Why Plan to Retire When the World is on Fire?

Have you always waved off planning for retirement as a "future you" issue? Or thought that the world might not even make it that long? Well listen up, this is the podcast for you. We're diving deep into why climate doomerism is not the answer, and how many (hundreds of) thousands of dollars you could be missing out on. Have a little faith.
