The Bible in a Year Podcast with Scott Purcell by Scott Purcell
Episode notes
What is the legacy of a life lived for God? Today, we reach the final chapters of Deuteronomy and say goodbye to Moses. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus is challenged on the nature of the afterlife by the Sadducees. He reveals that God is the "God of the living," not the dead, and then points to a poor widow as the ultimate example of true devotion.

He then ascends Mount Nebo, where God shows him the full extent of the land. Moses dies at 120 years old, and the Pentateuch concludes with a tribute to the greatest prophet Israel had ever known—until the arrival of Christ.
