Episode notes

1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair is the leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and the African diaspora. Founded in 2013 by Touria El Glaoui, the fair takes its name from the concept of one continent and 54 countries across Africa. Held annually in cities including New York, London, and Marrakech, 1-54 brings together galleries, artists, collectors, curators, and cultural leaders to celebrate the richness and diversity of contemporary African artistic practices. Through exhibitions, talks, special projects, and public programs, the fair has become an important platform for expanding global conversations around African and diasporic art while highlighting both emerging and established voices.
