Dr. Parul Dua Makkar shares how her life took a different trajectory when she lost her only sibling, Dr. Manu Dua, who was 34 years old, to Oral Cancer last year. He was a Dentist as well. Since his death, she has devoted her time to educating doctors and patients alike about risk factors and prevention and advocating for early diagnosis of Oral cancer. She has also co-authored the book ‘Life Interrupted, Dr. Dua’s Survival Guide’ which is a winner of the CIPA EVVY Award for Motivational/Inspirational books. TITLE: StellaLife Innovators Series Special What happens when we do serial extractions? Dr. Claire Ferrari, an orthodontist with over 25 years of experience and a practice in Kensington, CA. She studied craniofacial anomalies and went on volunteer missions treating patients with facial deformities in Nepal, Chile, and Argentina. She also taught dentistry at Trinity College in Ireland. Leading orthodontists trained her—Bill Profit, Jim MacNamara, and Vince Kokich— at the University of North Carolina, the University of Michigan, and later, the University of Washington. As a fellow at UCSF, she learned about Invisalign® from its founders and was among the first to adopt this technology. She took a year-long intensive course with the Airway Collaborative, where she learned about the science of sleep and how breath affects everything from oral health to brain function. Dr. Ferrari uses CBCT and airway analysis with 3D imaging. In this special Innovators Series edition, she shares cases of patients for whom she provided rehabilitation after undergoing serial extractions as children, allowing them to breathe and chew normally.

To pursue his passion for dentistry, he earned his dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where he became Smile Engineer™. Dr. Stanley is the co-founder and continuing education (CE) instructor at The Stanley Institute. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.

Is StellaLife a Game Changer? Dr. Walter Tatch is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and has been in private practice for over 20 years. He is a graduate of University of California at San Francisco and University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Tatch is a Fellow of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American and International Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has given lectures on various topics in maxillofacial surgery at the local dental societies, as well as professional meetings. Dr. Tatch has published articles in various scientific journals, including Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Journal of American Association of Cosmetic Surgery. His area of expertise encompasses a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The area of special interest includes complex hard and soft tissue reconstruction in preparation for placement of dental implants, facial reconstructions. Dr. Tatch has devoted his career to excellence in patient care and comfort.
