Pisani, who grew up in Philadelphia, where he still resides, cut his teeth on Bee Gees 45s and wearing his platform shoes to see Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Bowie was his gateway drug to the Velvet Underground, and on to the jazz of Count Basie and Miles Davis.
