Beautiful Boy with Timothee Chalamet and Steve Carell

This is an autobiographical film written by Nic and David Scheff, son and father respectively, about the harrowing journey of addiction, the damage it causes, the re3asons it happens and the destruction that engulfs a family structure because it destroys so many people, not only the victim of the addicted person. Timothee Chalamet gave a brilliant, poignant and very vulnerable performance as Nic, who is in and out of drug rehabs, goes into recovery, relapses and gets clean again. It's a vicious cycle and one in which Steve Carrell playing his father, handles so adeptly because3 he doesn't get angry nor blaming of his son, he only offers support and compassion.

It's a beautiful film and a must watch. Available on Amazon Prime to rent.
