Episode notes
10 Feb 2026
Iceland is experiencing a significant earthquake swarm, with nearly 500 earthquakes near Eldey and a total of 600 across the country in the past two days. This activity, coupled with land rise of 22.6 million cubic metres beneath the Blue Lagoon and Svartsengi, suggests potential volcanic activity. While the most likely scenario is a magma flow to the Sutnook crater series, the possibility of a new eruption or magma intrusion remains.
