US commandos seized a secret Russian oil tanker, the Achila II, in the Indo-Pacific region. The ship, operating under a Panamanian flag, had been evading capture for 99 days after turning off its transponder. The seizure, carried out by the Department of War, is part of a broader effort to prevent sanctioned countries like Russia and Iran from using oil tankers to fund military operations.
