Rabbit Holes & Reincarnation: A Journey Through Lifetimes
What happens when you start pulling on one little thread… and suddenly you’ve fallen headfirst down the rabbit hole? In this episode of Side Quest, we’re exploring some of our favorite “Okay, but WHAT IF…?” questions — interdimensional travel, déjà vu, karma, out-of-body experiences, reincarnation, past lives, and the possibility that this isn’t our first time doing this whole life thing. We share our own experiences, weird moments, beliefs, and theories along the way — some that make us question reality, some that make us question ourselves, and some that probably should have stayed in the “do not disturb” section of the universe. 😂 Is déjà vu a glitch in the Matrix? Are we carrying pieces of other lifetimes with us? Could consciousness exist somewhere beyond the body? Does karma actually keep receipts? And if we really have lived before… why did nobody give us the memo?! No definitive answers. No pretending we have it all figured out. Just two friends wandering through some seriously strange rabbit holes, sharing what we've experienced, laughing at the absurdity of existence, and enjoying the journey. Grab your flashlight. Check your timeline. And whatever you do… don’t follow the rabbit. Or, you know… absolutely follow the rabbit. 🐇✨
Have people forgotten how to people? In this episode of Side Quest Mamas, we’re diving headfirst into the strange reality that seems to be unfolding around us: people are ruder, more impatient, more self-absorbed, and somehow operating on what feels like full NPC mode. From strangers acting like basic manners are an optional DLC, to people staring through you while they scroll, drive, shop, work, and exist in their own little digital bubbles, we have questions. When did everyone stop saying excuse me? When did common courtesy become a rare achievement? And why does it sometimes feel like we’re surrounded by characters who are just waiting for someone to activate their dialogue tree? Maybe it’s Main Character Syndrome. Maybe it’s burnout. Maybe technology has rewired the way we interact with each other. Maybe we’re all just tired and slightly feral. Or… maybe the NPCs are glitching. We’re talking entitlement, rudeness, social autopilot, the loss of basic human interaction, and the increasingly bizarre feeling that everyone thinks they’re the main character in a world full of background characters. Grab your controller, watch out for random encounters, and try not to rage-quit humanity. Because apparently, manners are a side quest now. Ever notice how life is full of contradictions? In this episode, we dive into some of the most fascinating paradoxes (from the funny to the mind-bending) and, naturally, each one sends us spiraling into stories from our own lives. Somewhere between philosophical questions, questionable life choices, and our usual unfiltered chaos, we completely lose the plot... and honestly, that's where the magic happens. If you've ever gone down a conversational rabbit hole with your best friend, this episode will feel like home. Dear 90's, What the Hell??
From heroin chic to body positivity, the beauty standards of the '90s and early 2000s left a mark on an entire generation. In this episode, we take a walk down memory lane and unpack the impossible body image ideals we grew up with, the diet culture, low-rise jeans, magazine covers, celebrity scrutiny, and the constant pressure to be smaller. We talk about how those messages shaped the way we saw ourselves, how today's trends compare, and whether we've really come as far as we think. It's an honest, funny, and sometimes uncomfortable conversation about learning to unlearn decades of unrealistic expectations and finding confidence in the bodies we have now. Because surviving the '90s beauty standards deserves its own support group. What happens when two LARP-loving, fantasy-obsessed besties ask the completely reasonable question: "What if we started a cult?" (Relax, it's definitely a guild. Our imaginary lawyer made us say that.) This week, we're building the world's most wholesome "cult," complete with character classes, ridiculous guild rules, sacred snacks, side quests, chaotic good energy, and enough tabletop nerdiness to make your inner goblin feel seen. Grab your dice, your favorite bowl, and your emotional support cloak, we're rolling for initiative on the most unhinged episode yet. May your rolls be high, your snacks plentiful, your bowls never empty, and may you leave every tavern better than you found it. What does it actually mean to be a girls' girl? Jenn and Kellie dive into the good, the bad, and the downright petty, sharing stories about friendship, competition, jealousy, and the women who've had their backs when they needed it most. From bathroom compliments to "girl jail" offenses, this episode is equal parts chaotic, hilarious, and honest. Grab your favorite snack and join the conversation, because supporting women should be more than just a hashtag. Well... we're back. If you've been wondering where we've been, this episode explains everything. What was supposed to be a short break turned into a medical emergency when Kellie landed in surgery with a bowel obstruction. One emergency procedure later (plus saying goodbye to 31 inches of extra skin in a panniculectomy), life hit the pause button in a big way. In this episode, we're talking about the terrifying moments, the unexpected wins, recovery, body image, gratitude, and the dark humor that somehow kept us laughing through it all. We also share why the podcast went quiet for a bit and what this experience taught us about slowing down, accepting help, and appreciating every single day. This one is raw, emotional, occasionally unhinged, and unmistakably Side Quest. Because sometimes survival becomes the biggest side quest of all. ⚡ Come laugh with us, cry with us, and celebrate the fact that... Kellie's alive.
In honor of Father’s Day, we’re opening The Father Figure Files, a chaotic, funny, and unexpectedly heartfelt deep dive into dads in all their forms. From biological dads to bonus dads, stepdads, grandpas, coaches, and every “dad energy” human who showed up when it mattered, we’re talking about the legends, the mysteries, and the men who taught us everything from life lessons… to questionable DIY solutions involving duct tape. We’re sharing dad stories, iconic dad logic, and the universal experience of being raised by someone who refuses to read instructions. Expect dad jokes, emotional whiplash, and a lot of love for the people who shaped us, even when they were emotionally unavailable but very committed to grilling. This one is equal parts laughter and appreciation, because fatherhood isn’t one thing, it’s a whole file system of chaos, effort, and showing up in your own weird way. Happy Father’s Day to the dads, the bonus dads, the stepdads, the grandpas, the coaches, and every father figure who did their best… even if their best involved zip ties and confident guessing. We asked AI to tell us who we are and then spent an entire episode unpacking the results. From eerily accurate observations to existential rabbit holes, we're discussing what our chatbots got right, what they got wrong, and why getting psychoanalyzed by a computer is way more unsettling than it should be. No therapists were harmed in the making of this episode—just our egos. 🤖💀😂 This week, we're pulling back the curtain and sharing a little more of who we are. From memories that shaped us to the realities of life today, we reflect on where we've been, where we're going, and the lessons we're still learning along the way.
