Halacha Doesn’t Necessarily Bring Moshiach (Tanya is a ברייתא)

Welcome back to another episode of Tanya is a ברייתא! This week, we take a look at another lense through which the Alter Rebbe views tzedakah. By comparing it to other extra-halachic concepts, we gain a deeper understanding of the importance of giving tzedakah, even if it doesn’t work with halacha.

(The intention of this series is to attempt to bring out the Alter Rebbe’s intention by doing a deep dive into his (oftentimes niglah’dike) sources. Enjoy the shiur!)
