Apparently, We’re the Adults | Adulting
At some point, someone probably should’ve asked whether giving Ashton and Maddie microphones was a good idea. Unfortunately, nobody did. In this episode of Say Less, Actually, we’re talking about the things we probably have no business being trusted with, the questionable decisions we’ve somehow been allowed to make as adults, and the moments that have made us stop and wonder: who exactly approved this? From having entirely too much confidence with absolutely no qualifications to realizing there really isn’t a responsible adult coming to take over, we’re unpacking the mildly concerning reality that we’re apparently allowed to just… do things. No supervision. Questionable judgment. Somehow still functioning. Who’s letting us do this? Apparently, us. We could say less. But we won’t. Welcome to the first episode of Say Less, Actually! Where long-distance friends Ashton and Maddie turn the conversations they were already having into a podcast for everyone else to hear. For our first episode, we’re asking a potentially dangerous question: what would actually happen if we were neighbors? We’re planning our imaginary neighborhood life, establishing some boundaries, deciding how quickly an open-door policy would get out of hand, and figuring out exactly how long it would take before the neighbors started complaining about us. Somewhere along the way, we also realize that living in different states hasn’t actually stopped us from being involved in almost every unnecessarily small detail of each other’s lives. Would living next door be the best thing that ever happened to us? Or are we long-distance friends for a reason? Probably both. We could say less. But we won’t. Intro created with royalty free music on Upbeat. What’s the plan for Say Less, Actually? Excellent question. Ashton and Maddie are long-distance best friends with microphones, a lot to say, and apparently no real plan beyond showing up, yapping, and seeing where the conversation takes them. No grand purpose. No pretending we have it all figured out. Just two friends, whatever is on our minds that week, and a concerning amount of confidence that other people might want to listen. So, really, we’re just here to vibe. We could say less. But we won’t. Intro music is royalty free from Upbeat.
