Evolving Friendships: How to Build Godly Community in Every Season of Life
Lately, something has been sitting incredibly heavy on my heart—honestly, it's something I wish I had understood a lot earlier in life. The other day on social media, I asked y'all a simple question: "What do you value most in your friendships?" You came through with some beautiful, honest answers. You talked about equal giving, trust, consistency, loyalty, and having friends who love you enough to tell you about yourself. You talked about pushing each other to grow and praying together. So, if you haven’t guessed it already... yeah, today we are talking about friendship. But we aren't just talking about regular, everyday connections. We are diving deep into what it means to have Godly friendships—and why these relationships matter so much more as we grow, heal, mature, and evolve on our faith journey. 🌟 In This Episode, We Cover: Alignment Over Convenience: Why growing up means shifting from friendships based on proximity to relationships built on spiritual alignment. The Power of Divine Shifting: Realizing that not every connection is meant to go where God is taking you next. History is history, but spiritual growth requires discerning your current season. Entertainment vs. Elevation: How a true biblical community doesn't just entertain your flesh—it strengthens your spirit, holds you accountable in love, and sharpens you like iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). The Reality of Disconnection: Why moving in separate directions doesn't make anyone the bad guy. You can still hold peace and kindness for someone even if they are no longer in your immediate inner circle. A New Covering: Why shifting dynamics require new spiritual coverings and friends who can sit with you in the low places, not just celebrate your highlights. "Loyalty without alignment leads to exhaustion—mental, emotional, and spiritual. You cannot shrink who you are just to maintain something God is trying to get you to release." If you are in a season where your circle is shifting, feeling a little lighter, or even a little lonely—please know this: You are not isolated; you are being aligned. God is intentional about the people He allows into your space for the next version of you. Be open to the pruning. Be open to the new, healthy connections God is building. 🌿 Connect & Grow If this episode spoke to your heart, please share it with a friend who needs to hear it today!
