'If I failed in a relationship while holding tightly, that would so shake the core of who I am. Holding lightly is being outcome-agnostic. It’s not that nothing matters, but you go into a relationship with no expectation that it has to succeed, and knowing that on the other end you’ll be okay.

'We’re living in an environment that’s not conducive to good spirit or good work. When people fudge their science, or claw against those who should be their compatriots, they do so because they feel it’s more likely to give them some other happiness, and they’re right.'
