Episode notes

‘As soon as I hit the bong, I felt like a window pane closed between my brain and the outside world. It wasn’t fun any more.’

Over time, Ian had become manic, feeling like a philosopher who’d figured out life. Then he did some LSD and weed, and became trapped in insanity for several months, first seeing himself as a Christ-like messiah, then not feeling like a person any more. At times he believed that he would be insane forever.

Here he describes those episodes, how he made it back, and his current outlook on himself and on drugs:

‘I think psychedelic therapy would be less necessary in a world where people are less exploited.’
