Season 25

Why Are You Here? (Pastor Greg Hudson, 02/22/25)

A few brave adventurers have looked for their thrills atop Mount Everest. In a less literal sense, others seek their rousing mountaintop moment with God, hoping for God to reveal Himself spectacularly as He did for Elijah and Israel on Mount Carmel. But what good was that mountaintop moment for Elijah when, hours later, he forgot his God and ran for his life? Pastor Greg reflects on Elijah's experience and encourages seeking God not simply in the extremes of life, but also the quiet places. Sermon by Pastor Greg Hudson, recorded on February 22, 2025, at the Ringgold Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Heart Transformation (Lucas Reutebuch, 02/15/25)

God referred to David as the man after His own heart. And yet, this same David struggled with a heart problem that culminated in murder. Though our experience may differ on the 'murder' part, we often suffer from the same heart problem as David. In this episode, though, Lucas Reutebuch lays out steps from David's experience to show we, too, can inquire of the Lord for a clean heart and a renewed spirit. Sermon by Southern Adventist University theology extern Lucas Reutebuch, recorded on February 15, 2025, at Ringgold Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The Challenge (Pastor Greg Hudson, 02/08/25)

The challenge rang out across Mount Carmel as Elijah challenged King Ahab, the priests of Baal, and a wayward Israel: "If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal is God, follow him." It was met, at first, with silence. Every day, we make choices that shape--and reshape--who we are. Listen as Pastor Greg reminds us how the same mighty, spectacular God who made His presence known on Mount Carmel then wants to be present in our lives today, as we choose Him. Sermon by Pastor Greg Hudson, recorded on February 8, 2025, at Ringgold Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Dried Up (Pastor Greg Hudson, 01/25/25)

This sermon opens with a story of a man and his elderly father-in-law escaping the recent Palisades Fire. (Apologies for the delayed start to recording!) Elijah went straight into action when prompted by God's calling. But as he waited for God's plan to take full effect, he experienced drought like his enemies when the brook of Cherith dried up. While we, too, can find ourselves waiting for God's plan to come full circle, Pastor Greg reminds us about the encouragement and peace God offers along the way. Sermon by Pastor Greg Hudson, recorded January 25, 2025, at the Ringgold Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The Incredible Journey (Pastor Brian Burgess, 01/18/25)

Before Abraham's story played out and showed him worthy of dominating Hebrews' "Faith Chapter," several of the actions he took early in his story proved fear-driven and short-sighted. We are all that version of Abraham at times, no? Hospice chaplain Brian Burgess offers demonstrations, both scriptural and applied, of how we can assess and approach our challenges with a level head and a peace of mind that only God can bring. Sermon by Pastor Brian Burgess, recorded on January 18, 2025, at the Ringgold Seventh-day Adventist Church.

snow cancellation Bible study (Pastor Greg Hudson, 01/11/25)

Though church was cancelled today on account of snowy/icy roads, Pastor Greg made sure we experienced the warmth of the Holy Spirit anyway. Join in for a cozy Bible study to learn how God can make you white as snow. Study by Pastor Greg Hudson, recorded on January 11, 2025, at Pastor Greg's home office.

Truth in an Age of Extremism (Elder Kevin Young, 01/04/25)

In a time of growing calls for religious liberty from places of power, it's more important than ever to know exactly what that means to us as individuals and a church. Is it possible that the current popular movement is a dangerous repetition of the past? This week's message explores scripture, current events, and a history we are doomed to repeat if we don't seek the "kingdom...not of this world." Sermon adapted from Pastor Joe Reeves (North American Division's chosen Religious Liberty Sabbath 2025 speaker), delivered by Elder Kevin Young, recorded on January 4, 2025, at the Ringgold Seventh-day Adventist Church.
