The Corinthian church struggled with conflict and in the closing chapter of this letter Paul sets a high standard. Conflict is hard and challenging but it is made exponentially worse when people do not honor God’s instruction. When in conflict seek to keep your emotions in check and any conflict you can simply overlook it is best to do so. It is to a man’s glory to overlook an offense. (Proverbs 19:11) If the offense is too big then the most important thing is to not gossip and slander and to go and talk to the person alone. Be careful about those who gossip, slander and do not obey God’s instruction. Next time someone comes to you with gossip I would encourage you to stop the conversation otherwise you mistakenly can encourage their gossip. There is more shared in the podcast.
