Season 21

Ephesians 5:1-21 | Idol Hunting: Cookie Jars (Week 9)

Pastor AB 📖 Ephesians 5:1–21 Big Idea: YOUR WALK TALKS For what does it profit a man to keep his SNAPCHAT, but lose his soul? Our mouths can SAY we trust our Father... but really it’s our steps that tell the story. You ARE LOVED. You ARE LIGHT in the Lord. Now LIVE WISELY. Stop explaining away what God calls you to put away. Bring what’s hidden into the LIGHT. We all need FLASHLIGHT FRIENDS—people who love Jesus and love us enough to tell us the truth. Who have YOU given permission to shine light into your life? We can’t keep our hand in the cookie jar and pretend we’re serious about resisting temptation. Ephesians 4:17-32 | New Looks Good On You (Week 8)

NEW LOOKS GOOD ON YOU | wk8 Pastor Carl Nicholson 📖 Ephesians 4:17-32 Big Idea: WE DON’T PLAN NOT TO FAIL You don’t FOLLOW JESUS by accident. Put off the old self, be renewed in your mind and put on the new. Let your WALK REFLECT JESUS. Speak truth. Give grace. Work hard. Share. Be kind. And forgive as Christ has forgiven you. FORGIVENESS IS A GIFT. BITTERNESS IS A PRISON. DON’T LIVE THERE. Be kind. Let go of resentment. Forgive someone today. Following Jesus is INTENTIONAL. / / WALK THIS WAY / / You don’t WALK WORTHY to become worthy. Jesus has already called you, brought you near and made you family. Now let your WALK MATCH YOUR CALLING. Walk in humility. Gentleness. Patience. Love. Unity. And use the gift Christ has given you to help build His Church. YOU WEREN’T SAVED TO SIT. YOU WERE EQUIPPED TO BUILD. Don’t worry about step 27. Just TAKE STEP ONE, because God is a much better Shepherd than we are sheep. 📖 Ephesians 4:1–16 FOLLOW US AS WE FOLLOW JESUS: https://linktr.ee/restchurch.net #Ephesians #WalkThisWay #EquippedToBuild #restChurch #therestisyettocome

Ephesians 3:1–21 | Less Me, More We (Week 6)

Pastor Cody Walls | rest Church Big Idea: GOD’S POWER IS UNLIMITED, AND IT IS AT WORK IN US Ephesians 3 gives us the reveal of a mystery that had been hidden for generations: WE ARE ALL ONE FAMILY IN CHRIST. Through the Gospel, we are FELLOW HEIRS, members of the SAME BODY and partakers of the SAME PROMISE. The mystery isn’t a thing. THE MYSTERY IS US. UNITY, NOT UNIFORMITY. And God didn’t reveal this mystery just so we could know it. He intends to display His wisdom THROUGH THE CHURCH. THE CHURCH IS GOD’S PLAN A. Church was never meant to be a solo sport. We open the Word together. We worship together. We pray together. We serve together. We grow together. God is building a people, and He intends to show the world and even the spiritual realm, His wisdom through His Church. Paul then prays that we would be STRENGTHENED WITH POWER through the Spirit and that we would grasp the breadth, length, height and depth of Christ’s love WITH ALL THE SAINTS. We were never meant to grasp it alone. And then Paul ends with a celebration: God is able to do FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY than anything we could ask or imagine, according to the power already AT WORK WITHIN US. Not just within me. Within US. His power isn’t somewhere out there waiting for us to find it. It is already at work in His people, His family, His Church. LESS ME. MORE WE. The mystery isn’t a puzzle you solve. It’s a people you belong to. And the God who revealed it has unlimited power and He put it right here, IN US. Ephesians 2:11-22 | 'In Christ' Changes Everything (week 5)

Pastor Johan Leclaire | rest Church Big Idea: WHEN WE SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR US, IT SHOULD CHANGE HOW WE LIVE FOR HIM. Not out of duty, but out of love. Ephesians 2 reminds us that we were SEPARATED from Christ, FAR OFF, WITHOUT HOPE and WITHOUT GOD. We were on the outside looking in. But then everything changes: BUT NOW, IN CHRIST JESUS. Those who were once FAR OFF have been BROUGHT NEAR by the blood of Christ. Jesus didn’t merely restore us to God, He also brought us back to ONE ANOTHER. He tore down the dividing wall of hostility, made peace and created ONE NEW PEOPLE in Himself. In Christ, we are no longer strangers and outsiders. We BELONG. We are fellow citizens, members of God’s FAMILY and part of something much bigger than ourselves. And this new family has a foundation. Jesus Christ Himself is the CORNERSTONE, the One who gives His Church its alignment, stability, identity and unity. But God isn’t finished building. In Christ, we are being joined together into a HOLY TEMPLE, a DWELLING PLACE FOR GOD by the Spirit. Jesus restored us. He established us. And He is building us together. When we see what God has done for us, it should change how we live for Him... not out of duty, but out of love. Ephesians 2:1-10 | From Dead To Different (week 4)

Pastor Cody Walls | rest Church Big Idea: YOU WERE DEAD. BUT GOD. NOW LIVE DIFFERENT. Ephesians 2 does not describe us as sick, struggling or mostly dead. It says we were DEAD in our sin, BOUND by the course of this world and CONDEMNED as children of wrath. But then come two of the greatest words in Scripture: BUT GOD. Because He is rich in mercy and great in love, God MADE US ALIVE with Christ, RAISED US UP with Him and SEATED US with Him in the heavenly places. We are saved by grace through faith, not by our works, not by our record and not by anything we bring to the table. And grace does not just save us from something. It saves us for something. We are HIS WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus for good works God prepared beforehand for us to walk in. You were dead. But God. Now live different. Ephesians 1:15-23 | Power You Can't Measure (week 3)

Pastor Adam Bretz | rest Church Big Idea: YOU HAVE MORE THAN YOU CAN SEE What if the problem isn’t that God needs to give you more... but that you need your eyes opened to what you already have in Christ? In Ephesians 1, Paul prays that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened so we can know God better and SEE what He has already given us: a hope we haven’t fully grasped, an inheritance we can’t fully comprehend and a power we can’t measure. And when Paul wants us to understand what that immeasurable power looks like, he points us to Jesus: RAISED from the dead, SEATED at the right hand of God, ABOVE every power, and HEAD over all things for His Church. Whatever feels over your head is still under His feet. Ephesians 1:7-14 | Covered By Promise, Called By Purpose (week 2)

Pastor Cody Walls | rest Church Big Idea: GOD DOES NOT JUST PROMISE YOU. HE GUARANTEES YOU. How secure are the promises of God? In Ephesians 1, Paul reminds us that our salvation isn't hanging on our ability to hold onto God... it's secured by what God has already done in Christ. We have been redeemed by His blood, forgiven by His grace, given an inheritance and sealed with the promised Holy Spirit as the guarantee of what is still to come. In Christ, you are covered, smothered, filled, sealed and kept until the day of redemption. God didn't just make you a promise. He put His Spirit down as the guarantee that He will get you home. #DefinitelyAtoned SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 1:7–14 FOLLOW US AS WE FOLLOW JESUS: https://linktr.ee/restchurch.net #therestisyettocome #Ephesians #CoveredByPromise #CalledByPurpose #InChrist #HolySpirit #Redemption #Grace #Forgiveness #Sealed #DefinitelyAtoned #Gospel #BibleTeaching #Jesus #restChurch #NewIdentity

Ephesians 1:1-6 | Wanted From The Start (week 1)

Pastor Adam Bretz | rest Church Big Idea: IDENTITY IS RECEIVED, NOT ACHIEVED. Who gets to define who you are? Our culture says identity is something you build, earn or discover. But before Paul tells us what to do in Ephesians, he reminds us of what God has already done. In Christ, God names us, blesses us and adopts us into His family. Your deepest identity isn't rooted in your performance, your past or what others say about you... it's rooted in what God says is true. Because when you know whose you are, it changes who you are. #SAINT SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 1:1–6 FOLLOW US AS WE FOLLOW JESUS: https://linktr.ee/restchurch.net #therestisyettocome #Ephesians #WantedFromTheStart #Identity #InChrist #Grace #Adoption #Gospel #BibleTeaching #Jesus #restChurch #NewIdentity

Season 20

One Heart, One Soul | Do It Again (week 4)

Pastor Cody Walls | rest Church Big Idea: YOU'LL KNOW THE FIRE FELL BY HOW WE LOVE EACH OTHER. What does revival actually look like when God moves among His people? In Acts, the evidence wasn’t only wind, fire, miracles or a loud room... it was a church becoming one. The believers devoted themselves to the Word, prayer, fellowship and the table. They held their stuff loosely and held each other tightly. Jesus said the world would know we belong to Him by the way we love one another... and that remains one of the clearest fingerprints of God on His church. Because when the fire really falls, it doesn’t make us proud... it makes us one.
