Palestinian author Ramsey Hanhan came by the pod to discuss his work, his childhood during the first intifada, his experience as a Palestinian currently in the diaspora, and what it means to write about Palestine in a colonial tongue.
In this episode, I spoke to co-founder of the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention, Dr Elisa von Joeden-Forgey. We spoke about common misconceptions about genocide, her time with communities in northern Iraq who had experienced genocide at the hands of Daesh/ISIS, and the imperial force driving the Palestinian Genocide.
In this episode I sat down with Palestinian journalist Abubaker Abed in Ireland where he is recovering from malnutrition and the impacts of the genocide on his body. We spoke about his home, Deir al Balah, before the genocide; what daily life as a reporter looked like; and how he is adjusting to life in Ireland away from his family.
