5 Is My Church An Exception? - part 1 of 2

It’s easy to hear statistics about declining church participation or cultural change and assume, “That may be true elsewhere, but not in my church.” In Part 1, Ralph Moore challenges leaders to look carefully at their own congregations rather than relying on impressions or familiar measurements of success. Healthy attendance and programs can sometimes hide deeper issues involving disciplemaking, multiplication and engagement with people outside the church. This session begins a practical examination of the questions leaders need to ask if they want to understand where their church really stands in a changing culture.

4 Mistakes We"ve Made

Not every problem facing the church comes from changes in the culture. Some come from choices churches and leaders have made along the way. Ralph Moore examines several assumptions and ministry practices that may have unintentionally weakened disciplemaking, leadership development and mission. The purpose isn’t to assign blame but to learn. A post-Christian environment gives us an opportunity to reconsider what has become unnecessarily complicated, rediscover the simplicity of New Testament ministry and begin making changes that can lead to healthier, more reproducible expressions of church.

3 American Churches Beyond The Pandemic

The pandemic accelerated changes that were already taking place in American churches. Attendance patterns shifted, habits changed and many assumptions about how people relate to congregations were disrupted. In this session, Ralph Moore looks beyond simply trying to restore pre-pandemic church life. Instead, he asks what these changes reveal about the future of ministry. The challenge is not merely to get people back into buildings or programs, but to rethink how churches make disciples, develop leaders and carry the gospel into an increasingly decentralized and post-Christian culture.

02 Facing Current Realities With Hope

The cultural landscape has changed, and churches cannot simply assume that yesterday’s methods will work tomorrow. Ralph Moore takes a clear look at some of the realities facing churches in a post-Christian era while refusing to surrender to pessimism. Cultural change can expose weaknesses in our assumptions, but it also opens new opportunities for mission. This session challenges leaders to face reality without fear, recognize where traditional approaches may be losing effectiveness and recover the hope that comes from trusting what God can do through ordinary believers.

01 Learning To Thrive As Strangers And Aliens

What does it mean to follow Jesus when the surrounding culture no longer shares our assumptions about faith, church or Christian values? In this opening session, Ralph Moore explores the challenge—and opportunity—of living as “strangers and aliens” in an increasingly post-Christian culture. Rather than retreating, complaining or trying to recover the past, Christians can learn to live faithfully and fruitfully in a world that may not understand them. This session lays the foundation for thinking differently about church, mission and our place in the culture around us.
