There is a Sharia Free America Caucus in Congress. Founded December 2025. Dedicated to stopping religious law from being imposed on Americans by the state.

And I agree with the principle.

The problem is the exact same political movement raising the alarm about religious law is simultaneously working to impose their own religious law on everybody else. Same shape. Different book.

They fear religious law controlling women's bodies — they are building abortion bans rooted in the theological belief that life begins at conception, a religious position not a scientific one.

They fear the holy book posted as the legal code — they passed laws requiring the Ten Commandments displayed in every public school classroom in America, recently upheld by a federal appeals court.
