Episode notes
What does it actually take to get into a Clinical Psychology PhD program?
In this episode, I walk through the Clinical Psychology PhD application process and share practical advice from my own experience applying to programs. We discuss what makes a competitive application, the importance of research experience and supervisor fit, how to approach potential supervisors, writing a strong statement, and how to approach the process strategically.
I also discuss the importance of viewing your application as a cohesive story—where your experiences, research interests, and goals come together to explain why Clinical Psychology is the right next step for you.
Admissions can be incredibly competitive, and there is no single formula for getting accepted. My goal is to provide a realistic starting point and some lessons I wish I had known when I was applying.
