California's Influence On Punk Music In 1994: Green Day, NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, and The Offspring
Episode notes
Welcome back to Pretty In Punk: The Punk Rock Podcast! In this episode, I’ll dive deep into five California-based punk bands that changed the world of punk music in 1994. This was a pivotal year for punk and pop-punk music because this genre was finally getting the "mainstream" recognition that it deserved. Albums were hitting the charts, bands received Grammy nominations, bands had live television performances, and many bands signed to major labels. California punk bands specifically had such an influence on this genre in 1994 and 30 years later, these are still some of the most iconic punk and pop-punk albums of all time.
Thank you so much for listening. New episodes drop EVERY FRIDAY on all streaming platforms!
👉NOTE: I don't even know how I did this but I COMPLETELY misspoke and called Brett Gurewitz Brian. Maybe in the moment I was thinking of Brian Baker but yes I know his name. Anyway...BRETT Gurewitz is the owner of Epitaph Records and guitarist of Bad Religion. 🤦♀️
