Episode notes
Join Joe McDonald as he delves into the profound journey of spiritual growth outlined in Steps 10 & 11 AA, as described in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. In this session, Joe emphasizes the importance of serving and growing in the Spirit, highlighting the transformation that occurs when we become conscious of the power flowing within us. “We’ve got to get you serving. We’ve got to get you growing in the Spirit. All right, so if you’re feeling the flow of His Spirit into you, now they’re telling you to some extent we’ve become God conscious. We’ve become power conscious.”
Joe explains that this is not about a traditional church experience but about tapping into the power within, which manifests as peace, happiness, and a sense of direction. By improving our consciousness of this power, we avoid being overwhelmed by the world and stay on the path of recovery.
