Welcome back to the POA's Desk.
In the last episode, we explored the difference between General and Specific Powers of Attorney. Today, we answer one of the most practical questions: what should a POA actually cost, and how do you compare providers properly?

In Episode 5, we discussed headline pricing. Government notarisation fees for a standard POA generally start from around AED 1,200, with bilingual documents costing more. At POAS, our fixed fees are AED 2,199 for Property Sale, Property Management and Corporate POAs, and AED 1,999 for Bank Account POAs. These prices are all-inclusive.
But the advertised price rarely tells the full story.
A complete POA fee usually covers drafting, certified Arabic translation, notarisation, and delivery. Proper drafting is more than filling in a template. The wording must match the transaction and satisfy the receiving authority. Certified translation is equally important, as UAE POAs require an approved Arabic version.
The most common hidden costs appear when providers advertise a low fee but charge separately for government fees, translation, delivery, amendments or transaction support. Others rely on generic templates that fail to meet authority requirements, resulting in rejected documents, delays and the expense of starting again.
Before choosing a provider, ask a few simple questions:
• Is the quoted price fully inclusive? • Does it include both English and Arabic? • What happens if the document is rejected? • Is digital delivery included? • How quickly will the POA be completed?
Clear answers usually indicate a well-managed service.
We've regularly assisted clients who first chose low-cost providers, only to have their POAs rejected because of incorrect drafting or incomplete property details. After paying twice and losing valuable time, the overall cost became far higher than choosing the right provider from the beginning.
