This psalm mourns why Jerusalme is destroyed and is read every 9th of Av by Jews in commemoration. There are spiritual realities that describe the church today from this psalm. Not only was God’s city and temple destroyed then…. But they are attacked today. This calls for the soft hearts of God’s people.

Ephraim was the leadership of Joshua, which didn’t conquer the land, but Judah was the leadership of David, who did conquer the land.

The Lord’s name is again a mockery and our prayers are needed.
