Episode notes

Togo was the Siberian Husky who led Leonhard Seppala's sled team on the longest and most dangerous leg of the 1925 serum run to Nome, Alaska, covering 264 miles while Balto ran the famous final 55 into town. On Our Next Collar, Togo tells the whole story of the relay, from the frozen Norton Sound crossing to the statue that went to another dog. Twenty mushers and about 150 dogs carried the medicine 674 miles to save the children of Nome. Sourced from the historical record. A podcast from Talking With Pets.
