Episode notes
Nick and Sophia welcome back returning guest and Best Original Song category extraordinaire, Bennett Prosser, to talk through critics prizes and initial nominations that have kicked off this year’s awards season. They highlight the films that earned the most nominations at the Golden Globes and debate what happened with certain solo nominees. Does Emilia Pérez have the best chance at winning Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy considering its 10 nominations? Listen to find out what they think!
Then, they answer listener questions to help make sense of other surprises and snubs (48:46). Will Denis Villeneuve be snubbed again for Dune: Part Two? Can other Best Film winners like Wicked at NBR and A Different Man at the Gotham Awards translate to Oscar nominations? Lastly, find out what Bennett thinks of Diane Warren’s chances at finally winning her first Academy Award!
