Getting PPHIG-y With It: Judy Moskowitz & Liz Addington Talk Positive Psychology

Jamiece and Oslo sit down with our Northwestern colleagues Judy Moskowitz and Liz Addington, two psychologists who work in the PPHIG Lab (Positive Psychology & Health Investigation Group). They talk about the wide applicability and importance of using positive psychology, why it might not mean what you think it means, and their vision for how Northwestern and the wider world could be improved with the tools they teach. In this episode, we discuss how the application of these positive strategies affects emotional regulation and what their hopes are to spread these strategies on the NU campus and beyond. Reflection questions: Think about a time when you slowed down and were able to identify what feelings were coming up for you; what impact did that have? What did it help you do next? What would you like to see change about our campus culture? How do you think these positive emotion strategies might help? 25:37: Oslo means Alex Pretti, not Alex Pruitt.
