The Pharmacy Perspective: When Patients Are Afraid of Needles
Trend Talk: Real Pharmacy, Skin & Wellness by LL Wellness (LL Supplement)
Episode notes
Semaglutide does come in an oral tablet form, not just a weekly injection. Same active ingredient, different routine.
The tablet can be a good option for patients who avoid injections, but it is not “easier” automatically. It must be taken first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, with no more than 4 ounces of water, then you wait 30 minutes before food, drinks, or other medications.
Needle anxiety can stop people from staying consistent. Oral semaglutide may help some patients, but the routine matters. Ask your pharmacist before switching or adjusting therapy.
