Just in the last ten years, the advent of birding apps fundamentally changed the way people interact with their natural surroundings. Just about anyone can now have access to the largely unknown world of birds and contribute to a collective scientific environment. This is a good thing for ornithologist and urban ecologist, Dr. Dan Cooper, who thinks conservation can only succeed when there are many contributors.
