For Day Nine of the Month of Darkness Challenge, Nella steps into the final night of Vanessa Roux’s mortal life.

At twenty-two, Vanessa was preparing to return home to Paris to be named French Artist of the Year. Her bags were packed, her speech was ready, and her fiancé Lucien was supposed to be beside her.

Instead, the man she planned to spend her life with decided forever wasn’t long enough.

Vanessa never made it to Paris.

She woke instead to discover her fiancé had become her sire.
