007 - The Living Daylights Review

Mike and Dan dive into Timothy Dalton's first outing as James Bond. They discuss Dalton's intense take on the character, the film's complex plot involving a fake defection and arms dealing scheme, the supporting cast including Joe Don Baker's Brad Whitaker, and standout action sequences like the cargo plane stunt. While they praise the shift toward grittier action after Roger Moore's era, they also note the film feels overstuffed with red herrings and unnecessary plot threads.

007 - A View to a Kill Review

TFG1Mike and MovieRevolt Dan close out Roger Moore's tenure as James Bond by discussing A View to a Kill. They explore the film's heavy 1980s aesthetic, its memorable Duran Duran theme song, standout performances from Christopher Walken and Grace Jones, and the problematic age gap between Moore and his co-star. The hosts appreciate some elements—particularly the San Francisco set pieces and city hall fire sequence—but ultimately find the film forgettable, bloated with unnecessary horse-racing subplots, and hampered by Moore's visibly aged presence in action scenes. They also reflect on Moore's overall run as 007.

007 - The Spy Who Loved Me Review

The hosts dive into Roger Moore's third outing as Bond, examining what many consider his best performance in the role. They discuss the film's cast, including Barbara Bach as Agent Amasova and Richard Kiel as the iconic henchman Jaws, explore the standout action sequences like the opening ski chase and the famous Lotus Esprit submarine car, and evaluate how this film represents a high point of the Moore era with its larger-than-life villain lair, memorable gadgets, and balance of humor and spectacle.

007 - The Man with the Golden Gun Review

TFG1Mike and MovieRevolt Dan discuss Roger Moore's second Bond outing, examining Christopher Lee's stellar performance as Scaramonga, the underrated henchman Knick Knack, and the film's pacing and mystery elements. They debate whether the solar energy plot is a distraction from what could have been a tighter personal duel between Bond and Scaramonga, and discuss how the climax doesn't quite land.

007 - Live and Let Die Review

Roger Moore makes his debut as James Bond in this 1973 spy thriller set across New York, New Orleans, and the Caribbean. Mike and Dan discuss Moore's comedic take on the character, the film's blaxploitation elements, standout performances from the supporting cast, and whether the colorful but overlong plot holds up today.

007 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service Review

TFG1Mike and MovieRevolt Dan face off over George Lazenby's lone Bond outing. Mike considers it the worst Bond film ever made, while Dan argues it's a misunderstood gem that brought experimental filmmaking to the franchise. They debate Lazenby's acting and physicality, Peter Hunt's kinetic directorial approach, the film's emotional ending, and why this divisive entry remains controversial among fans fifty years later.

007 - You Only Live Twice Review

Mike and Dan wrap up Sean Connery's tenure as Bond with You Only Live Twice, the 1967 film that introduces Ernst Stavro Blofeld and features a secret volcano lair, ninja army, and the iconic Little Nellie aircraft. They dig into the film's muddled plot involving space satellites and superpower conflict, standout action sequences, the forgettable Bond girls, and Connery's noticeably diminished interest in the role compared to Goldfinger. Despite strong stunts and memorable set pieces, the hosts find the film caught between being entertaining spectacle and narratively incoherent.

007 - Goldfinger Review

Mike and Dan dive into the third Bond film, discussing Sean Connery's return, the iconic Aston Martin, Honor Blackman's take on Pussy Galore, and why Goldfinger remains one of the best entries in the franchise. They break down the plot's clever twist, the chemistry between Bond and his various co-stars, and memorable scenes like the gold-painted death and the laser table sequence.

007 - From Russia With Love Review

TFG1Mike and MovieRevolt Dan tackle the second Sean Connery Bond film and the debut of Desmond Llewellyn as Q. They discuss the film's slow-burn spy-thriller pacing, the introduction of iconic gadgets like the briefcase, and key characters including Red Grant and Rosa Klebb. While one host finds it doesn't match Dr. No's excitement, the other appreciates its layered plot and 1960s espionage sensibilities.

007 - Dr. No Review

Mike and Dan kick off their "Shaken Not Stirred" Bond film spotlight by diving into 1962's Dr. No, the film that started the entire franchise. They discuss Sean Connery's iconic performance, the film's influential style and music, standout moments like the tarantula scene and Honey Rider's emergence from the water, and explore both what works and what shows the film's modest budget. They also dig into the popular fan theory that "James Bond" is a code name passed between agents, and debate how it holds up against the actual continuity of the films.
