Mixtape Misadventures

by Sarah and James
Season 1
Episode 4: Tithe- Hail the Sun
This week, James subjects Sarah to some Post-Hardcore chaos in Tithe by Hail the Sun. A Californian band that isn't afraid to tackle heavy topics and plays with time signature, we're in for a real misadventure.
Episode 3: In my Daughters' Eyes by Al Lewis
This weeks episode is 'In My Daughters Eyes' by Al Lewis from his album Fifteen Years. Fifteen Years is about the journey of processing the grief and loss of his father, which he began after a lockdown decision to sort through his father's possessions. With themes of grief, healing, and legacy, this album will appeal to many people who may not have come across Al's music before. It was also influenced by his own recent experience of becoming a father and seeing himself in his father, as shown in the song 'In My Daughter's Eyes'.
Episode 2: Jericho
In episode 2, James subjects Sarah to Jericho by Sleep Token. This "Rock" song is off the British bands 2nd "offering" (EP) called Two. Can James finally make Sarah see the light of rock music, or will she still hate anything with electric guitars and vocals louder than a conversation in a moderately busy Pizza Express in Woking? Only one way to find out!
Episode 1: Ein Traum by Edvard Greig
We start completely left field with some art song! Join Sarah and James as they explore Norwegian Art Song from the Romantic period and the renowned composer Edvard Grieg. This rendition was sung by Barbara Bonney and accompanied on the piano by Antonio Pappano on the album 'Diamonds in the Snow' recorded by Decca.
