Sylvia Shin Huey Chong, a professor at the University of Virginia, teaches Asian American Studies, Film, and American Studies. She is also the founder of the Asian American studies minor program at U of V. Her book - “The Oriental Obscene: Violence and Racial Fantasies in the Vietnam Era,” covers racial violence in the Vietnam era media.
