From Beyonce to the Blue Jays: Safety & Accessibility at Entertainment Events
Episode notes
In Episode 4, Tomee focuses on safety and accessibility at entertainment events. She shares insights about her previous experiences as a security professional and as a guest at sporting events and concerts. Tomee asks listeners who plan events and retain event security businesses to integrate an intersectional trauma-informed anti-racism and anti-oppression lens into their risk mitigation strategies, risk assessments, and client service delivery practices.
Tomee also raises the issue of body searches, consent, and trauma triggers. She questions the differential treatment members of Black/African/Caribbean communities receive at cultural events, including hip-hop and reggae concerts.
