Fallout, Warcraft, & Other Important Things
Episode notes
Lost the Plot Podcast | Episode 1 — Fallout, Warcraft, & Other Important Things
Jack_Kerrigan and Kevinagan stop procrastinating and finally hit record — no plan, no script, no problem. Nearly two hours of passionate ranting about storytelling, video game adaptations, and the slow corporate death of things we love.
In this episode:
🎮 Fallout (Amazon Prime) Season 2 — Why hardcore fans are furious about the NCR, Shady Sands, Caesar's Legion, the Brotherhood of Steel, and New Vegas lore changes.
⚔️ World of Warcraft "Deep Dive" — Jack gets nostalgic about Vanilla World of Warcraft and talks about his experience with the Vanilla+ private server "Turtle Wow", as well as attempts a complete history of the story of World of Warcraft (with roughly 60% accuracy and only a bunch of errors)
✍️ Writing & Storytelling Rants — Quirky characters in traumatic settings, Mary Sue protagonists, time travel as lazy plotting, and why Firefly got it right.
🤖 AI Takes — ChatGPT vs. Claude, vibe coding, and why a yes-man AI is useless as a creative partner.
🎯 Also: Marvel/MCU, Destiny 2, The Walking Dead, Ghost Stories dub, Godzilla, indie animation, social media algorithms, and somehow… sports. Episode 1. We lost the plot immediately. Buckle up.
