Whuff Rods - Dave Huff and Scott Tomblin - In Conversation
This episode was recorded at the 2025 Toronto Sportsmen’s Show, where I finally got to meet Dave Huff, owner and builder of Whuff Rod Company. Dave doesn’t just build rods, he crafts them, working closely with anglers from across the country to refine every detail! Alongside Dave was Scott Tomblin, a good friend of mine and a big advocates for Whuff Rods. Scott has been singing the praises of these rods for years! I have had one and enjoyed it but after finally getting my hands on the whole lineup at the show, I can see why Scott has been enamoured with them! In theepisode, we talk about what goes into making a truly great fly rod, the passion behind Whuff Rod Company, and what makes these rods stand out from the rest. I’m really excited I got to chat with Dave Huff and Scott Tomlin, they are two awesome dudes! Whether you’re a gear-head, a fly fishing fanatic, or just love a good fishing story, you’re in for a great conversation.
David Chong - In Conversation with Live 2 Fish
Welcome to another episode of the Live 2 Fish Podcast, where we dive deep into the world of fishing, from the rivers and lakes to the personalities that shape our community. I’m your host, Daniel Notarianni, and today I have a true Canadian fishing icon with me, Dave Chong. Dave has been at the forefront of bass fishing in Canada since tournaments first started here. His love for competition has driven him to incredible heights, and today, he’s the head of Bass Canada, leading our international bass fishing team. But Dave’s passion doesn’t stop with bass. He fishes for anything and everything and gives back to the fishing community in so many ways. He founded the 'Catch a Dream' event, offering kids in organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Make-A-Wish the chance to experience fishing. He’s also the president of the North GTA Bass Anglers and even started a big perch ice fishing tournament on Lake Simcoe that runs for weeks and offers prizes beyond just big fish categories. Dave’s dedication to the sport and the community is unmatched, and I’m really excited to chat with him today. So let’s dive in!
