The Hebrew verb runs through the chapter in two directions. In verse 6, our iniquity falls on Him. In verse 12, He rushes at God on our behalf. Same word. Two directions. That is the shape of Christ's work.
In this letter
- Paga (H6293) walked in both directions
- The whole passage walked one more time
- The Servant as target of paga on the cross
- The Servant as agent of paga now, at the right hand
- A direct pastoral landing for the sin-carrying, the grieving, the doubtful, and the accused
Scripture — Isaiah 52:13-53:12; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1
Hebrew word studies
- paga (פָּגַע, H6293) — the two-directional verb of the chapter (Friday apex)
