Episode notes
Robert Maudsley is one of the UK’s most feared and isolated prisoners, but his story is more than just murder and violence.
In this Podcast/video, we explore Maudsley’s life from the beginning: a childhood marked by extreme abuse, neglect, and trauma. We look at how this shattered foundation may have shaped the man who would later be dubbed “Hannibal the Cannibal” by the media.
We’ll cover:
· His early life and time in care
· The brutal abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents
· The killings he committed, and who his victims were
· Why he’s now kept in a custom-built glass cell, alone and cut off from the world
This is a case of violence born from violence, and a mind that may have broken long before the first crime was ever committed.
